Newyorské Metropolitné múzeum umenia (The Met) sa v pondelok večer premenilo na najprestížnejšiu galériu sveta. Témou roka 2026 bola výstava „Costume Art“ s dress kódom „Fashion is Art“. Hviezdy tentoraz nielen kráčali po červenom koberci – ony samy boli umeleckými dielami.
Návrat kráľovnej: Beyoncé v hlavnej úlohe
Ak mal niekto definovať tohtoročnú tému, bola to Beyoncé. Po desaťročnej pauze sa vrátila na schody Met Gala v sprievode Jay-Z a dcéry Blue Ivy. Jej róba od Oliviera Rousteinga (Balmain) bola inšpirovaná anatómiou ľudskej kostry, doplnená o dramatickú perovú vlečku. Bol to moment, ktorý zastavil čas a potvrdil jej status módnej ikony.
Rihanna a strieborný minimalizmus
Hoci dorazila medzi poslednými (ako je u nej zvykom), Rihanna nesklamala. V sprievode ASAP Rockyho, ktorý zvolil ružový župan od Chanel, zažiarila v pokrčených strieborných šatách od Maison Margiela. Jej vzhľad pripomínal tekutý kov a dokonale ladil s umeleckým zadaním večera.
Keď šaty rozprávajú príbeh
Tohtoročné Met Gala prinieslo niekoľko technologických a koncepčných unikátov:
- Kim Kardashian: Šokovala v korzete zo sklenených vlákien (fiberglass), ktorý dopĺňali jej platinové blond vlasy. Jej outfit pôsobil skôr ako vytesaná socha než odev.
- Sabrina Carpenter: Očarila v šatách od Diora, ktoré boli vyrobené zo skutočného filmového pásu z filmu Sabrina. Doslova tak prepojila kinematografiu s haute couture.
- Lisa z Blackpink: Predviedla futuristický model od Roberta Wuna, ktorý obsahoval 3D vytlačené odliatky jej vlastných rúk obopínajúcich jej telo.
Živé sochy a surrealizmus
Heidi Klum vzala tému „móda ako umenie“ doslova a na červený koberec dorazila ako „živá socha“. Jej latexová róba od Mikea Marina imitovala kameň tak verne, že hostia mali pochybnosti, či ide o živú bytosť.
Na druhej strane, Madonna opäť potvrdila svoju povesť provokatérky. V outfite od Saint Laurent niesla na hlave model lode a sprevádzalo ju šesť dvorných dám so zaviazanými očami, čo premenilo jej príchod na bizarnú umeleckú performanciu.
Príroda verzus technológia
Janelle Monáe sa tento rok vzdala svojho typického „cyborg“ vzhľadu a stavila na „divokého robota“. Jej šaty od Christiana Siriana boli pokryté skutočným machom, ktorý prerastal cez kovové súčiastky, čím symbolizovala prepojenie prírody a priemyslu.
Kendall Jenner zase prekvapila spoluprácou s Gap Studio – návrhár Zac Posen pretvoril obyčajné biele tričko na monumentálnu skulptúru inšpirovanú antickou sochou Okrídlenej Victorie.
